Want some extra leave time
Employees who self-report to their HR Representative and provide proper documentation verifying that they are fully vaccinated will receive one floating holiday, which is to be used by the end of the fiscal year. Also, with prior authorization from your supervisor, the City will allow you up to two hours to go and get vaccinated! Click here or on the “Miramar Employees Take The Shot” image, to view a few of your co-workers, who will be receiving that additional leave!
The COVID-19 vaccine is our best shot to return to normal, keep people safe, and contribute to the wellness of our community. Studies show that the vaccines are effective at keeping you from getting COVID-19 and preventing you from getting seriously ill, even if you do contract the virus.
Florida’s Department of Emergency Management has allocated Pfizer vaccines for City employees who volunteer to be vaccinated. The Pfizer vaccine is a two-dose series, and you will be considered fully vaccinated two weeks after the second dose. Employees may register for an available date and time by clicking here. We will continue to regularly open slots as they become filled. The vaccination site, which is open daily, is located at Vizcaya Park, 14200 SW 55 Street, Miramar, FL 33027.
Employees must show up at the site on their scheduled date and time, present their City identification to security in order to gain access. To expedite your vaccine appointment you may complete the registration and consent information in advance at COMMVAX.PATIENTPORTALFL.COM.
If this location and time are not convenient for you, please check the Florida Department of Health’s website at https://floridahealthcovid19.gov/vaccines/vaccine-locator for other locations. Should you have any questions, please contact your HR Representative.
